  2. I went to Maria Montessori in Pasay for gradeschool. I LOVE that school. If only they had high school I wouldn't have transferred. My bestfriends until this day are those from Montessori. My friends since the 1st grade. I would have put my son there too but when he was starting the school had some major problems and was not the same Montessori but NOW it's back. Luis and I love the school he is in...I just have to worry of where to send him for HS.

  3. Hi, I'm thinking of sending my soon-to-be 3 yr. old son to that school. One drawback is that it is very new and has no track record yet although the talk I had with the school head was reassuring. May I know the main reasons why you decided to choose the laren school?

  4. hi! i also had to overcome my family's opinions (objections) to the fact that it has no track record... but i told them that i'm sending micael to laren because i trust mrs lim's experience and i really believe that my boy will totally enjoy and learn so much there! i have friends who were teachers under her at montessori merville (she was the directress even when it was in pasay) and they would tell me how great it was to be working with her.

i highly recommend the school, even without a track record. mrs. lim told me that the teacher of micael is someone who has a full resume and is very experienced. i'm very comfortable with sending him there. =)

i think that being a small school will work to the advantage of my mica. this way, mrs lim will be able to monitor everything and mica will have plenty of one on one time with the teacher.

  5. I believe in small sized (10 to 12) classes. More intimate and more interaction.

  6. thanks for the inputs. i was really impressed with mrs. lim as well and the location of the school from my place is ideal. 3 things thats been keeping me from enrolling my son there are: 1) no track record (actually, you've helped overcome this one) 2) development fee (think it is unfair for the pioneer batch to bear part of their start up expenses) 3) no playground area (i.e. want my son to play a lot with his classmates; she said once a week they'll bring the kids to san lorenzo park) 3) want my son to eventually go to a big school but since they offer elementary programs, they do not prepare the students for entrance exams/mock interviews like other preschools. well, there are review centers...

still, i'm really tempted on laren school. probably will let my son attend a few trial classes and see from there.

    blissfulcow,
also agree a smaller class size is better but my question is until which grade? in the real world, we are always dealing with people in big groups. i've never attended a small class before so hope you can enlighten me...

  7. nathanielsan, i know that whatever you decide for your son will be what's best for him! =) that's our main goal as parents, right? we'll agonize over every decision and won't know whether the one we made is the correct one or not... at least, not until they're old enough to be parents themselves! good luck! =)
